THE NAKED APE
Daniel Mellitz (US, 2006, 110 min)
Drama
Saturday, Oct 7, 2:00pm, Grand Meridian Cinema

There are 317 living species of monkeys and apes. Three hundred and sixteen of them are completely covered with hair. The exception just hit puberty… Named after Desmond Morris’ controversial 1967 best-seller, The Naked Ape is a bittersweet, coming-of-age dramatic comedy about friendships, insecurities, rights of passage, and the death of idealism. Beautifully shot and with a great indie soundtrack, the film follows five teenagers on a road trip through the American Southwest when they discover that one doesn’t plan to return home.
