GREENSBORO: CLOSER TO THE TRUTH
Adam Zucker (US, 2007, 83 min.)
Documentary, Human Rights
Saturday, Oct. 6, 11:45 a.m., Student Union Theatre
Greensboro, NC, 1979: Five members of the Communist Workers Party
are killed in broad daylight by the Ku Klux Klan. Though the murders
are captured by TV news cameras, no one is ever convicted of the
crime. The Greensboro Massacre haunts the survivors, Klansmen, and
the city of Greensboro for a quarter of a century, with no hope
of resolution. Until, in 2004, they all converge at the first Truth
and Reconciliation Commission ever held in the US.
