Traumatized by physical injuries and brutal losses in Sierra Leone’s
civil war, a group of refugees fight back with the only means they
have – music. The six-member Refugee All Stars came together
in Guinea after civil war forced them from their homeland. This
award-winning, character-driven documentary follows their performances
in refugee camps, and their eventual return to war-ravaged Freetown
as they find refuge, purpose, and a source of power by giving a
voice to the experiences of so many struggling to survive.
