It's 1983. Punks, mods and skinheads are on the rise, but employment is not. Eleven-year-old Shaun has lost his father in the Falklands but finds a surrogate family in a band of friendly skinheads. Soon, Shaun discovers parties, girls and snappy dressing, and finds role models in Woody, Milky and the rest of the gang. But when an older, overtly racist skinhead returns home from prison, the easy camaraderie of the group is broken, and Shaun is drawn into much more uncomfortable territory. A flawless gem, the EFF opener is a humble, if insistently political, homage to a lost world of youth, propelled by a number of extraordinary performances.
